Born in Kumamoto in 1941, he has been involved in experimental animation, photography, and design since the 1960s. In 1970, he purchased a portable video camera and formed "Video Earth Tokyo". He views video as a medium for personal documentation as well as a medium for life and ideological expression, and with his unique perspective, he has been involved in a wide range of activities in Japan and abroad, including performances, documentaries, and installations. Recently, he was featured in "VideoFormes" in Clermont-Ferrand, France, and also revisited New Zealand, where he produced "Rangitoto," for a large-scale installation exhibition.
