Masaru Noto / AICOT

Japan

Born in 1957, he saw Stan Brakhage's "Dog Star Man" in 1975, which turned his worldview upside down. He has been making experimental films ever since. He has kept a dream diary since 1978, and dreams have always had a close relationship with his work. He believes that if dreams are connected to the collective unconscious, it is possible for a personal film to transcend the individual. He is also interested in sign language, the only visual language, and has mastered sign language since his silent films. Currently, in addition to film production, he works as a sign language interpreter registered in Edogawa Ward.
